10 Things We All Hate About Robot Vacuum Deals

Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals

This is your time to own a robot vacuum. CNET's top-rated models will be on sale for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with discounts up to 57%.

The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping, with apps-based no-go zones. its 180-minute runtime is impressive. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s smartest robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. Its biggest breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that uses built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often go through). It's also the first to automatically send you photos of the object it comes across so you can tell it to stay clear of it in the future.

The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop we have ever tested. It removes dirt and spills easily, leaving no trace that it was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app, which allows you to schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't vacuum areas you do not want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it using voice.

Its design is also an improvement over the rest with a sleek top piece that looks more like a toy than a loud, obnoxious one. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt removal System also self-empties, which will cut down your cleaning time.

In our tests, we observed that the j7+ was quick to eliminated dirt, dust and hair from pets. Its counter-rotating rubber brush rolls kept the debris in one place instead of scattering it all over the floor. It even could take small gravel and sand which other robots aren't able to do. It did all this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.

The j7+, although not as smart as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and isn't able to clean the stairs, is an excellent choice for those who need both mopping and vacuum. It's not expensive and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable as other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates, and it is sometimes difficult to tell if they are working until you actually see them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking for a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, the most effective option is likely to be hybrid. This category of bots typically has a built-in water tank which means they can vacuum and mop your house simultaneously. They also have a number of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance and even the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. The downside is that they tend to be expensive when purchased at full retail, but during Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.

Roborock is one of our favorite robot vacuums, and the Q5+ isn't an exception. This is their least expensive auto-empty model. While it lacks some of the premium features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great choice if you're willing to sacrifice a bit to save some hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is extremely soft when it comes to obstacles like tables and walls. This makes it an excellent choice for homes that have a lot of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is a place where many cheaper robot vacuums fall short. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is superb as well, with only a few misses in corners and along walls.

The Q5+, just like other Roborock products can be controlled with a few buttons on the device, or via the Roborock App. The app allows you to start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, create virtual barrier and no-go areas or adjust your home map, or change the room's label.

If you opt for the Q5+ model, it ships with a new auto-empty dock specifically designed to make this robot easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver install, but once it's in place, emptying the bin is simple. It has a large LCD screen which is helpful for setting up schedules or altering settings. This isn't a necessary feature for most people however it will help you keep the track of the maintenance intervals for your robot easily.

3.  cleaning robots  is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly clever in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design is one of the best in the industry however, it's costly.

It is a relatively small base station that looks beautiful and is able to be concealed when not in use. But the station's main selling feature is the way it automatizes numerous tasks and functions that most other robots will leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, and then electrolyze and heat the water. Most other robovacs will require this.

And its vacuuming is impressive as well. It's the few robot vacuums I've tested that do very well at picking up debris on bare floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

But the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly in terms of navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robovacs. This means it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas of your home. It's also unable to climb stairs like other models and isn't equipped with a docking station to create a cleaning zone for plush carpets.

Although it doesn't provide as much in the way of cleaning-related options in its app, or as many shortcuts within the app as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those looking for a comprehensive robot vacuum and mop that's worth the premium price cost.

If you're looking for a way to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are other options on the market. A lot of eufy models are considerably less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is less expensive and has more features, such as stair climbing and a full-function Dock, with a better overall vacuuming experience on floors that are unfinished, low-pile carpets as well as high-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac g30

Eufy, a Anker company, has a track record of producing robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning of hard and carpet floors, as well as mopping capabilities at an affordable price. It's simple to set up by snapping one of the side brushes on, turn it on and plug in the charging dock. The app takes you through the steps needed to connect to your Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. The dock should be located close to an outlet that has enough space to move.

The G30 is a small device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, which means it is able to be placed under most couches and low-clearance pieces of furniture. The design is less flashy than some of the rival models, sporting a sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge and Spot Clean (which scrubs an area in an arc for two minutes). You can also link the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to perform cleaning that is not scheduled using voice commands.

The main aspect that sets the G30 apart from most competitors is the method it cleans. It makes use of a built-in map to create an image of non-movable objects that are in its path and then keeps track of what it has already cleaned and where it can't access. If it requires a recharge, it automatically returns to its base and resumes cleaning from where it left off.

The elegant G30 has its flaws, though. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more constructed, has lower recurring costs, charges faster and offers similar battery life while offering better performance on floors with no carpet and low-pile carpet. It also has a larger dust bin that doesn't require to be emptied as frequently and comes with an array of boundaries to restrict it from certain areas. The G30 is cheaper and easier to maintain. Its smaller container means it doesn't have to be empty as often and has less difficulty handling bulky products like cereal.
